About Allyson

A native of Dallas, Texas, Allyson has been a published author since the age of 12, when one of her poems was featured in a young writer's collection. Since that time, she's written for such diverse projects as political blogs, lifestyle newsletters, online and print magazines, a collaborative book of essays, and a wide variety of web content.

Shattered: Poems for the Brokenhearted  is her first book of poetry. It was written over a five-year period as a way for Allyson to express her feelings in a healthy way during an emotionally difficult period of her life.

When not writing, Allyson sings, paints in acrylics, and helps friends and family with their websites.
